Maxxess is the name of a project by the German multi instrumentalist Max Schiefele.
Max Schiefele was born in 1962 in Bavaria, & began playing guitar at age 12, inspired by the upcoming German rock scene. He first covered known rock bands like AC / DC, later he formed his first band. He also became interested in electronic music (Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze etc), and he bought his first synthesizer back in 1985 to make electronic music. In 1987 he won a prize at the Frankfurt "White Waves" synthesizer music festival, with a purely electronic composition. Two years later he won another prize with an instrumental piece in a contest organised by the magazine "Keyboards".
Towards the end of the 90s, Schiefele took the pseudonym "Maxxess" to compose his own music and solo playing. Since then he has made instrumental music through the use of electric guitar in addition to a mixture of synthesizers and electronic sounds. At first, he published some of his pieces to the website mp3.de and met with positive response. Finally in 2001, the first CD 'Electrixx', was released by Klangdesign Records.
In 2004 Maxxess was voted "Best Musician 2003" by 'Schwingungen' (Vibrations), a German radio program for electronic music. The same year, a joint album ('Contact') was released with electronic musician Axel Stupplich ("Axess") from the band 'Pyramid Peak'. They subsequently performed together frequently, both in Germany & at renowned electronics festivals in the UK and the Netherlands.
