Группа the Space Cossacks была образована в 1996 году в Вашингтоне, округ Колумбия. Группа много концертировала по всей Америке: от Бостона до Атланты и от Сиэтла до Huntington Beach, CA.
Дебютный диск «Interstellar Stomp» был издан лейблом MuSick Recordings в апреле 1998 года и сразу получил хорошие отзывы.
Второй диск «Tsar Wars» был также издан MuSick Recordings . К диску прилагалась новелла «Tsar Wars», написанная Jamie Miles и иллюстрированная Steve Blickenstaff. С 2000 года группа Space Cossacks распалась. Участники группы теперь играют в самых различных проектах, о которых можно узнать на сайте Space Cossacks. Там же можно узнать полную дискографию группы, так как они, кроме упомянутых альбомов, участвовали ещё во многих компиляциях.
